If you acquired SylviusVG as a download, the file contains the entire contents of the application.

If updating:

1. It is intended to replace your existing version.
2. Your current notes and bookmarks will be preserved.

To Install the Download:

If you are updating your copy of SylviusVG:

1. Quit the SylviusVG application.
2. Drag the "SylviusVG" folder and all of its contents to the Trash.
3. On the update page, accessible by clicking the "Updates are available" button from within the SylviusVG application, choose the Mac or Windows update.
4. Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file to unzip the "SylviusVG" folder.
5. Move/extract the entire downloaded "SylviusVG" folder to a preferred location on your hard drive.
6. Launch the program as before:
   1) Open the "SylviusVG" folder on your hard drive.
   2) Double-click the Sylvius application: "SylviusVG" on Mac; "SylviusVG.exe" on Windows.

If you have purchased a digital download of SylviusVG:

1. Click the link sent to you via email by Kagi to initiate the download.
2. Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file to unzip the "SylviusVG" folder.
3. Move/extract the entire downloaded "SylviusVG" folder to a preferred location on your hard drive.
4. Launch the program:
   1) Open the "SylviusVG" folder on your hard drive.
   2) Double-click the Sylvius application: "SylviusVG" on Mac; "SylviusVG.exe" on Windows.

While WinZip and related utilities provide a convenient view of an archive's contents, you cannot run applications directly from that interface. In order to run Sylvius, you must first "extract" the contents to create an unzipped directory of the files on your computer. You then run Sylvius from this extracted location. See the pictures below for more information.
