Brodmann's areas
Regions of the cerebral cortex recognized by the classical neuroanatomist, Korbinian Brodmann, based on variations in cell size, density, and thickness of the cortical layers. Brodmann's famous maps of the human cerebral cortex were published in 1909 and remain the principal means for identifying divisions within the gyral structures of the cerebral cortex.
