Brodmann's area 43
Sensorimotor cortical area in the inferior margin of the postcentral and precentral gyri where the frontal-parietal operculum merges with the insula just below the inferior termination of the central sulcus; this area may participate in the sensorimotor representation of the mouth and taste reception.
Location:
junction of insula, frontal and parietal lobes
Function:
involved in sensorimotor representation and taste processing
